April in Japan

In Japan, April is a special month. Students in school are moving to the next grade,and a lot of people move to another place,and change jobs too.

In April, there are entrance ceremonies in companies and schools to mark the start of a new season. An entrance ceremony is an event that welcomes people who are new to the schools and the companies.

Also in April Sakura bloom. It is very beautiful, and we eat and drink under Sakura trees. It is very enjoyable to have food with family friends and colleagues.

In April we usually eat Sakuramachi. It is a Mochi flavored with Sakura.

It is very yummy !

There are a lot of types of Mochi. Three of the most common are Kashiwamochi (柏餅), Kusamochi (草餅) and Ohagi (おはぎ).

Chew carefully because some pepole choke.
